ARTE FACIAL

Eyelid surgery, known as blepharoplasty, allows us to address a series of conditions that affect the appearance of the eyes in people of different ages. From the correction of drooping eyelids due to laxity of the eyelid skin (upper blepharoplasty) to the elimination of bags and wrinkles under the eyes (lower blepharoplasty), this surgery allows us to reverse the signs that give an appearance of tiredness or sadness. With these videos, you will not only be able to appreciate the visual impact of blepharoplasty, but also understand how these procedures can significantly contribute to improving the quality of life of our patients.
Attending an evaluation consultation with a specialist before undergoing any surgery or treatment around the eyes is essential. This way, your case can be evaluated in a personalized way, the feasibility of the surgery will be determined, and the surgeon will inform you about the postoperative care necessary to ensure optimal recovery.
Below are some of our results for an upper and lower blepharoplasty.
Over time, many men notice changes around the eye area, whether due to genetic factors or aging. These changes could be related to various conditions such as excess skin on the eyelids and drooping eyebrows. Each case is unique and may involve one or more of these factors.
In most cases, drooping eyebrows are the main cause of this tired or “droopy eyelid” appearance. Eyebrow drooping is particularly common due to skin and muscle laxity.
A brow lift in men not only enhances appearance but can also help improve the visual field in some cases. Most importantly, the results are always natural, maintaining a masculine appearance.
This is an example of the benefits offered by upper blepharoplasty and brow lift. By tightening the eyelid fold and removing excess skin, we can create a platform that allows for the application of eyeshadow.
Additionally, the patient wanted to get rid of the bags under her eyes, which we achieved with a lower blepharoplasty.
In young patients with prominent bags under the eyes, we don’t want to remove the bag and create a hollow, gaunt appearance. Instead, the fat around the eye that creates the bags is surgically placed onto the maxillary bone. This technique is called fat repositioning. Lower eyelid blepharoplasty with fat repositioning has the benefit of treating the bags and blending the eyelid-cheek junction, giving the eyes a younger and more natural appearance.
A young woman with an attractive face wants to look as young as she feels, but the bags and wrinkles under her eyes make her look tired. Makeup cannot fix this issue, while other non-surgical treatments, such as skin ablation and radiofrequency, don’t do the trick. Filler applications in this area are not safe and may worsen the bags. In her case, the best solution was a transconjunctival lower eyelid blepharoplasty to remove the bags and a skin pinch technique to remove the wrinkles. A canthopexy was added to prevent lower eyelid retraction, giving her eyes a beautiful almond shape.
Lower eyelid blepharoplasty has several indications. First, it is employed to remove bags under the eyes. It also treats skin laxity, wrinkles, and folds that form under the eyes during aging. In cases where moderate to severe wrinkles have to be treated, it is imperative to be conservative with the amount of removed skin and perform a canthal suspension procedure, such as canthopexy, to prevent lower eyelid retraction after surgery.
An upper eyelid blepharoplasty can remove bags that form above the eye, and a lower eyelid blepharoplasty helps treat bags that form under the eyes. Both procedures can be performed on the same day under mild intravenous sedation. In patients with mild wrinkles under the eyes, a skin resurfacing procedure should also be considered. In this patient, a TCA chemical peel was applied to both lower eyelids.
Before-and-after photos showing the outcomes of an upper eyelid blepharoplasty with internal browpexy one month after surgery. This procedure helps to improve upper eyelid skin laxity and mild brow descent in young patients. Results are subtle and natural.
The R.I.M concept offers a comprehensive approach to rejuvenating your eyes, addressing all the factors that contribute to an aged appearance: volume loss, sagging tissue, and skin deterioration. This approach is designed to eliminate bags, lift drooping eyelids, and restore harmony, symmetry, and volume.
This goal is accomplished by tailoring surgical procedures to each patient and complementing them with non-surgical treatments, always considering our patient’s age, skin type, and health. The best rejuvenation is comprised of individualized therapies. With the R.I.M. concept, you can be confident that every aspect of your eye rejuvenation is being considered and addressed.
