At what age can I start applying Botox?

Absolutely. Oculoplastic surgeons train to remove eyelid lesions in such a way as to leave an inconspicuous scar. If the lesion is small and located on the eyelid skin, your surgeon can remove it in its entirety and reconstruct the area using microsurgical techniques. Flap technique is preferred to skin grafts when reconstructing small defects in the eyelid.

On the other hand, for larger lesions or those that affect the eyelid’s full thickness, a pentagonal wedge resection is the best option. This technique consists of removing the eyelid area that comprises the lesion in the form of a wedge. The surgeon then reconstructs this area by joining the eyelid margins. In most patients, the scar produced by this technique is almost invisible.

Eyelid skin heals very well, especially when handled carefully by experienced surgeons. Fortunately, keloid scars do not form on the eyelids.
