Can a laser be used to perform blepharoplasty?

During a blepharoplasty, a CO2 laser may be used to make an incision and remove the excess skin of the upper eyelids. However, most surgeons prefer to make the incision with an extra-sharp scalpel blade, as this seems to provide the most precise cutting and the best scar. Lasers are mostly used by oculoplastic surgeons to treat fine lines and wrinkles on the lower eyelids and upper cheeks. They can also be used to remove eye bags and benign tumors on the skin.
