Alcohol intake can lead to tissue inflammation through its undesirable effect on intestinal and liver function. Avoiding alcoholic beverages after cosmetic eyelid surgery will go a long way toward a better response of eyelid tissues and enable a faster recovery. We recommend waiting until the incision scars have healed and the swelling has subsided before ingesting alcohol in its various presentations.
