Facial fat transfer is done as an outpatient operation in most, but not all, cases. If the patient is undergoing more invasive facial plastic surgery that includes a brow lift, facelift, and neck lift, the surgeon may want to keep the patient in the hospital overnight. This is not infrequent, as facial fat grafting is often done simultaneously with other surgical procedures.
