What are the risks of an eyelid lift in Costa Rica?

As in any other facial plastic surgery procedure, an eyelid lift has associated risks of which patients should be aware. Postoperative dry eye is the most important risk as it is quite common, especially in individuals with dry eye symptoms before the surgery. Unsightly scars due to scar pigmentation or excessive scar tissue are uncommon but may be seen in patients with darker skin tones. Finally, postoperative lagophthalmos, an inability to close the eyes fully, is the most feared complication after an eyelid lift. Fortunately, this is extremely uncommon when the proper surgical technique is employed.
