What can I do to prevent bruising after surgery?Bruising after surgery is inevitable. However, you can reduce its amount and the time it takes to disappear by following the instructions from your surgeon. In terms of the amount of bruising, it is important to stop any medication or dietary supplement that may cause bleeding. These should be discontinued at least two weeks before surgery. Some of these medications/supplements include aspirin and vitamin E products. To make the bruising fade quicker, you may use warm compresses as indicated by your doctor, starting on the third day after the operation.
