A surgical brow lift is an outpatient operation that treats hooding or excess skin hanging over the upper eyelids caused by age-related laxity of eyebrow tissues (skin, muscle, and ligaments) and congenital droopy eyebrows. This operation can be approached using two methods: small incisions on the scalp, the endoscopic technique, or larger incisions in the hairline, the open technique. Most patients prefer the former; however, the open technique has an advantage in severely low eyebrows and patients with high foreheads, as the endoscopic approach will raise the hairline.
