What is eyelid entropion?

Entropion is an age-related condition in which the eyelid margin rolls in towards the eyeball. This condition results in the lashes rubbing against the cornea’s surface, causing irritation, tearing, and light sensitivity. Small erosions form in the ocular surface, allowing eyelash bacteria to enter the cornea and cause infection. With time, corneal ulcers and scarring may severely compromise vision, and in extreme cases, result in blindness.
