Regardless of your mood and state of mind, whether you feel happy or full of energy, your face may reflect a constant state of fatigue or anger. This is frequently caused by deep vertical lines between your brows (frown lines), crow’s feet and saggy upper eyelids, all of which come across as signs of annoyance or exhaustion. You may feel young and energetic, but your face looks aged.
Brow and forehead ptosis is the culprit of these unwanted signs of aging. Countless numbers of men and women in their forties, fifties or sixties wish their face expressed what they felt on the inside; they have tried multiple treatments to reduce the lines and excess skin, to no avail. Fortunately, there is a safe and very effective way to get rid of frown lines, crow’s feet and saggy lids.
The Endoscopic Forehead and Brow Lift
A brow lift has not always been a safe and efficient procedure. Most operations in the past were quite invasive and very traumatic for the patient and the results were not always predictable or durable. Technological advances in facial plastic surgery during the 21st century has allowed surgeons to approach this anatomical area with exceptional precision, to achieve excellent results with minimal downtime.
With endoscopic surgery of the face surgeons can perform an operation that addresses frown lines, crow’s feet and droopy brows in the same procedure. The surgery is elegant, safe and produces natural and durable results. Another great advantage is that the probability of scars is eliminated because the operation is performed through small incisions hidden in the scalp.
How is the procedure done?
The endobrow procedure is done on an outpatient basis. In most cases, Monitored Anesthesia Care (MAC) is used, a kind of anesthesia that does not require intubation. You will be sedated during the whole procedure and will not feel any pain.
Access to the deep forehead tissues is carried-out through small (15 mm) incisions positioned behind the hairline. Shaving the hair is not necessary. Next, a little camera connected to a light source is used to visualize the areas to be addressed. The ligaments that hold the brow in a low position are then released with microsurgery instruments or laser. Finally, the brow is raised and held in the new position with small, absorbable gadgets that are placed underneath the scalp. Titanium or stainless steel surgical staples are used to close the incisions.
After one hour of recovery, you are discharged from the surgical facility. The next day, your surgeon will see you to inspect the incisions and make sure that the healing process is going forward as expected.
Who is a candidate for this surgery?
The Endoscopic Browlift procedure is for anyone that has a low brow and desires to achieve a durable result. As in any surgical procedure, a preoperative evaluation and some lab work are necessary to ensure that you will tolerate the anesthesia and will recover well after the surgery.
