An endoscopic brow lift is a surgical procedure that restores eyebrow position, contour and height, providing a fresher and more rejuvenated facial appearance.
Many people wonder about the recovery after a brow lift, what they can expect, and when they will be able to see the results. For this reason we created this video for our patients, along with the following explanation.
Important note: unfortunately, this video is currently available only in Spanish.
The recovery process
- Immediately after surgery: It is normal to experience swelling and bruising in the periocular region, especially in the lower eyelids. We recommend resting and applying cold compresses to reduce inflammation. You will have a dressing around your forehead for the first 24 hours. Your eyes will also feel dry and irritated at first.
- The first week: During the first few days, you may feel slight discomfort or mild pain that can be managed with oral medication prescribed by your doctor. It is very important to avoid intense physical activity and protect the operated area.
- The following weeks: Swelling and bruising will start to decrease progressively. After about two weeks, most patients can resume their normal activities, although they should avoid excessive exertion and direct exposure to ultraviolet light.
Expectations and results
- First 4 weeks: After surgery you will notice that the tissues are swollen. Most of the swelling goes away in the first month. You may notice an improvement in brow height and a reduction in forehead wrinkles.
- Long-term results: As your tissues recover, the results will become more evident. Most patients can see the final results between three and six months after surgery. Scars become less noticeable over time and will continue to improve with proper care.
- Postoperative care: To maintain the results, it is essential to follow the recommendations that we will provide, which may include the use of sunscreen, avoiding smoking and eating a healthy diet. These habits not only promote better healing, but also contribute to the longevity of the results.
